So far, so good! It really does give a unique "vibe" to the guitar I play all the time. Kinda like a reset on playing, since the result is so different? I've bought 4 now - one for myself, three for friends/family. I find it's most vibe-y when you plug your acoustic in, and use a good amount of reverb/delay. I appreciate the inclusion of several shims to make sure it can fit virtually any acoustic. Nicely done!

I'm impressed. It took a few seconds to add a couple of the supplied riser strips and rolled it under the strings. I put it on a P bass with flats and it's exactly the old school flavor I wanted. The dampening and sound is much better than I was able to achieve with random foam I had laying around.

It’s fun, and easy to use which is no small thing. Just slide it in place and turn it upright, and you’re good to go. I appreciate the simplicity. It’s perfect for playing quietly just as a practical matter, but the sound is also good.

the moment I put the dead ringer on my Taylor, it gave it such a warm and vintage tone that’s unmatched. For the price it’s well worth it.

I really appreciate the sound this makes; it basically makes the guitar sound like a whole new instrument, maybe like a marimba! But it helps create a really lovely "vibe" for certain types of music. I am really happy I got it!

I spent lot of money and time trying to get the rubber bridge sound. Rolled wool felt, wool felt on weather-stripping, wool felt on those rubber wedges that piano tuners use…spent an easy $40 getting a-a-a-lmost there by various routes.

I got a message for a project on SoundBetter for a rubber bridge overdub on a pop song. Ordered a 2-pack from Etsy which arrived in two days just when the project was due. Added one extra height pad and tucked under one of my Taylor’s bridge’s..worked perfectly first time out..

I'm a "weekend warrior" singer/acoustic guitarist with a large, diverse repertoire. I gig 5-6 times month. Got my Dead Ringer last week and am having Big Fun trying it out on random tunes from my playlist. The change in tone has "re-vitalized" a bunch of tunes I've been playing for years, causing me to re-think how I play them. Gonna try it out for a live audience tomorrow.

I put the Deadringer on a Gretsch Jim Dandy parlor model, and immediately I got inspired. Some new music is in the making. I put one strip cut to 2/3 of the length and a whole strip over it, to compensate the hight. (Thinner side under the treble strings)

Fun little device, didn’t need the extra padding for my j-45 will low action. Going to order a few more for multiple fiddles, Rosewood pairs perfectly. Great product!

Put the dead ringer pro on an old mini Taylor that I like to record with an it sounds perfect.

I threw this on my Taylor 814 and it hit in the best way... As a songwriter, I'm constantly trying to find new ways to warp sounds and breed inspiration. From the moment I applied the Dead Ringer to my guitar, I started pumping out ideas and feeling a new, fresh style flowing. I'm so excited to see how this sound impacts some of my upcoming tracks!

This might be the most enjoyable tool I have for playing guitar right now. It brings a new energy to everything I play. Definitely surprised by the quality of the tool and I'm hopeful it will last for years.

I put it in my 2024 Taylor custom Namm #8 guitar. It sounds great. I needed to put on one of the extra pads. And when I took it
Off of the guitar the extra pad started to slip off already. So I feel pretty sure it won’t last through many install and de-installs. Not sure if I am supposed to pick A guitar and leave it on or not. Either way, it does what it’s supposed to do. I don’t use a pick and I find palm muting difficult without a pick. So thanks. It works.

One tip on the foam strips: line each one up precisely with the edges of the strip below it, then press it down firmly for a few seconds. When they’re stacked evenly they hold up to lots of installs. We’ve moved ours between guitars hundreds of times. And no need to pick just one guitar, it’s made to go back and forth whenever you like. I bought three and so far I have put it on a Taylor GS mini and an Applause Ovation nylon string. I really enjoy the muted sound and it makes practicing at night great since everyone is asleep.

Put this on my Martin 0-18 clone. Red adriandak spruce top parlor guitar. Really fun to tinker with. I'm actually going to use this on a couple recordings. Very excited. Works like a charm. Very neat plunky rubbery sound.

The deadringer product is as advertised and offers a new interesting muted sound. Seems a expensive for how simple it is to make, maybe $9.00 compared to $20. seems more reasonable. But it’s way cheaper than having a whole other rubber bridge guitar.

Thanks for the honest review, Tom! It looks simple, but it took a lot of trial and error to get there: a design that’s quick and intuitive to use, and durable materials that mute the strings without affecting intonation. Glad you’re enjoying the sound!

I bought one of these to experiment with, as I love rubber bridge guitars. The material is "fleshy" in a way that dampens the strings but does not affect intonation. It is really effective. Normal acoustic guitar strings really sparkle, but still have that low sustain rubber bridge attack. Very interesting and pretty sound when used with normal strings. The Dead Ringer on an acoustic with flatwounds sounds better than with a classic rubber bridge in my opinion. I ended buying two more. The Pro version is really nice for the curved structure for certain guitars. It also sounds great on electric guitars and nylon string guitars. It's really the perfect material for the rubber bridge sound, and so convenient. Probably the most interesting thing I've used it on is a high-strung (nashville tunning) guitar. really sparkly results.
